"Blue Jay Tea Party"

The Hauberg Estate in Rock Island, Illinois. One of those special places that just sits there mostly unnoticed for years. Somewhat neglected and always taken for granted. The perception of whether it is being properly cared for or used in the right way is mostly a matter of perception.

The Blue Jay has a reputation for being a noisy bully. This is partially due to it's reputation of eating the eggs from other species out of nests. According to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, an extensive test showed evidence of this habit in only 1% of Blue Jays studied.

The Hauberg Estate was nearly discarded by an apathetic city council until a concerned citizen group was formed and stepped forward. Although the property is clearly in better hands, there is still a small amount of disagreement on the methods of that care.
