Offerings

Placed at the edge of nowhere on a sacred space. These secret offerings are composed of discarded, neglected, broken, and decayed entities. Objects once noticed and appreciated, individually they offered beauty, utility, and purpose. Now they wait to be noticed again. By orchestrating these artifacts of my surroundings into still-life arrangements, new relationships are formed that reverberate with a new grace, and elegance. The difference between vulnerability and security is the same as the balance between light and shadow. How much do we reveal to tell a story, and how much do we keep in the shadows is a constant struggle. It’s cumbersome and tiring. Everything breaks. Everything withers. Everything is on its way to somewhere else. For now, I will make these secret offerings in hopes of some sort of redemption.
